Our national media campaign for 2019

Essilor is now in its fourth consecutive year of national advertising. From 8th April Varilux will once again be on TV with sponsorship of a series of programmes that will be broadcast on Channel 4.

To showcase the Varilux brand we have created a TV ident which is a short video that plays a few seconds before a programme starts, in the ad break and at the end of the programme.

The Varilux brand will receive exposure on over 750 hours of TV on both Channel 4 and More 4 throughout the year on peak and daytime TV.  It is estimated that over 30.2 million adults will see the sponsorship over the campaign period.

Varilux has invested in a Channel 4 escapism package which features high quality programmes that were filmed across the British Isles, from the Thames to the Dales, giving the viewer their own little sense of escapism. 

In addition to the TV sponsorship a 30" TV commercial will be broadcast through Video on Demand catch up services when programmes are viewed  through TV, mobiles, Tables and PC's. The ad will appear on premium networks including ITV, ALL4, Sky, UKTV, National Geograpy and Vevo.  We estimate that 22.1 million individuals will see the ad during the 8 month period that the campaign will run. The call to action is to visit a local independent optician to discover Varilux multi-pair offers.

Last but not least, a comprehensive digital strategy will allow us to profile and target individuals online of the right demographic profile for Varilux.  Other online activities include Pay per Click advertising and Search Engine Optimisation both of which have been active since January this year.
