Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) Machines

An optical coherence tomography scan can help you to achieve a much more detailed view of patients’ eye health, by allowing you to see the various layers inside the eye. OCT scans are a non-invasive imaging technique, and can help you to see the thickness of the layers. This could help you to better detect eye conditions much earlier, such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration.

An OCT scan is separate to an eye examination, and is recommended for people aged 25 or over or if patients have a family history of eye disease. Optical coherence tomography technology is quickly becoming adopted by practices up and down the country, making it an essential piece of equipment for your independent practice.

SPECTRALIS® OCT

The SPECTRALIS® OCT machine from Heidelberg Engineering is a state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging platform, with an upgradable, modular design. This allows clinicians to configure each OCT machine to the specific diagnostic workflow in the practice or clinic.

There are a number of multimodal imaging options available with the SPECTRALIS® OCT machine, allowing you to combine laser fundus imaging with OCT scans. There is also the opportunity to add optional features, such as a panning camera head and external touch panel control for better adjustment.

OCT machines from Topcon

At Essilor we currently offer two OCT machines from Topcon. The DRI OCT Triton introduces the first swept source OCT technology with multimodal fundus imaging. This OCT scan can provide clear, detailed images even in the deepest layers of the eye, allowing you to achieve remarkable diagnostic capability. Automated and intuitive functions can help you to optimise your practice workflow, resulting in greater clinical efficiency.

The Topcon Maestro 2 offers a fully automated operation with an extensive set of reports to help you better diagnose changes in eye health. It is incredibly compact, allowing you to carry out OCT scans with ease. At the simple touch of a button, the Maestro 2 OCT machine will provide information in an easy-to-understand format, with true colour fundus imaging.

Optopol REVO FC

The REVO FC is a multi-purpose OCT machine that also includes a fundus camera, resulting in a versatile device for your practice. Use the REVO FC to provide simultaneous OCT and fundus images, with an advanced optical system that works even on the smallest pupils.

The built-in camera on the REVO FC OCT machine is 12.3 Mpix for excellent image production, while automatically recognising 8 retina layers for precise diagnosis and mapping.
